The Jesse Lane Range

World of Woodworking |  The Jesse Lane Range

The Jesse Lane Range of saw were acquired by Thomas Flinn & Co. at the same time as the Pax brand (1990) and were a range that Sanderson Newbould had been making. We are not entirely certain of the exact origins of the Jesse Lane brand but know they date back to at least the 1850's so are another historic name we have continued to make. This brand may have at one time originated from a large manufacturer but after the Sheffield manufacturing boom in the 19th century, this may have dimished along with many other names.

The Jesse Lane range of saws date back to the 1850’s and have a high quality alloy steel blade. The handle is made from steamed beech and stained black with side plates for extra strength. Available in a variety of sizes from 20" - 26".

With a variation of teeth sizes, there is a Handsaw for every type of work. Rip saws (4 ½ tpi) are intended for cutting with the grain. The Handsaw (8tpi) and Panel Saw (10tpi) are both crosscut saws and are for cutting across the grain.
