One of our most popular mail order requests, the One and Two Man Cross Cut Saws have proved to be a much sought after product. These large saws are used mostly in forestry work and the crosscutting of large logs. The teeth on the Two Man Cross Cut Saws work in a way that the teeth cut on the pull stroke on each side of the tooth and so actually cut in each pulling direction. The 3 foot One Man Cross Cut Saw is provided with an auxiliary handle and the Two Man Cross Cut Saws come with two wooden handles. Available in a range of sizes to suit your needs.

Sizing advice: we recommend a saw length that is double the size of wood you are wanting to cut. This is to ensure that you can get enough stroke in your cutting.

This heavy duty timber framers and boat builders slick has an off-set blade to allow for clearance when working deep sockets and mortises, also used as a heavy duty paring chisel with no limits to reach due to its cranked neck. Made from a special high carbon alloy steel for a perfect combination of hardness and toughness. This ensures a razor sharp edge with outstanding edge retention.

The slick comes with a solid one piece forging including the heavy duty tang seated deep into the handle for security. An innovative heavy duty socket is fitted between the blade and the handle to make this one of the strongest and ergonomic framing chisels available on the market.

It is available in 2 3/8" and 3 3/8" wide blades with an overall length of 27".

The working face is machine ground in order to produce a slightly hollow surface for ease of honing and the back face is rounded off with no sharp edges for comfort and safety when handling the blade.

The Spear & Jackson Eclipse Saw Tooth Setter will enable you set the teeth on your saw.
Set is the amount by which the teeth on a saw protrude from the side of the blade. It is the set which creates the kerf to be wider than the blade and therefore prevents binding as the non-cutting part of the saw blade enters the cut. This allows easier cutting and good control. The teeth need to be alternately set on both sides so that equal numbers of teeth protrude from each side of the blade. This item comes with instructions and is indivdually blister packed.
