Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. Please note the mini cart (top right) defaults to UK tax and shipping costs. Once you select the shipping destination at the checkout stage your total charges will be displayed.

** Please note, most of our saws are made to order and we aim to turn around within a few days where we can. At times, we have many orders and so delays can occur, or we need to make parts etc which may slow things down. If you have an urgent requirement, please phone us for the most up to date info and we will endeavour to assist you as best we can. **

We ONLY accept payment in GB Pound. The most convenient method of payment is by Visa, Mastercard or Debit card. However, we do accept cheques only in GB Pounds, but this will be banked before your goods are made/ordered. The ease of using your card means your card company exchanges your currency to GB Pounds for you. We also accept paypal payments.

Payment processing is by a secure third party payment provider: Sagepay. This is a secure method used to ensure your details are not passed to us or stored in any way. We are fully PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant and have passed all security assessments on how we deal with any data relating to internet trading. This protects both you as a consumer and also us as an online retailer.

Please note that if you select to send payment details separately for security reasons, we will only process your order when we receive your payment information.

We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship but do need payment details as a guarantee these are going to be paid for, especially as many of our items are made to order. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Gift Vouchers are valid for 6 months from purchase (or until date stated on the voucher). These can be redeemed against any goods from The World of Woodworking for the amount shown ie, goods worth + VAT + P&P is to be covered by the voucher, unless you add to the value to cover this. When redeeming your gift voucher, you must quote your unique reference number which will indicate that your voucher is used and therefore the order is complete. If you are ordering via the website, please quote your unique number in an email and your charges will be ammended to discount the voucher amount. If you are adding extra items, you will still need to input payment details. Please ensure in this instance that ALL contact details are correct. Shipping And Handling

When you shop on this site, you can select preferred shipping either standard or first class (in the U.K. only). Outside of the U.K., there is a set price per parcel depending on where you are situated. These amounts are automatically added to your invoice. These are at times subjected to surcharges if the items are long etc and I cannot send by a viable method. Postage charges are based on an average parcel size we send - if you're item is small and light and can be sent much more cheaply than the already calculated total, I will reduce down the cost or give you an option of how you'd like the goods shipping. Shipping costs for many of our items is very costly.

Whilst we appreciate there may be problems at times with postage, we do not accept responsibilty for any damages or loss that happen during transit.

UK Standard - £6.00
UK First Class - £9.95 (we do make to order so at times this is not always a viable option)
UK Highlands & Islands - £22
Collect - FREE shipping. Please note, we call when goods are ready. Items made to order.

Rest of Europe - £28
USA/Canada - £35

Please note, now the UK has left the EU, no VAT is charged to export orders. Orders being shipped into the EU will now be liable to either local VAT or customs charges depending on the value of the goods as follows:
** Any item under the value of €22 does not incur any VAT or customs charges.
** Any item from €22 to under €150 will have a local VAT charge applied but is not liable for customs charges.
** Goods over €150 are charged VAT and if the origin of the goods is outside of the UK they also face customs duties.

Delivery Schedule

Whilst we try to ensure our customers get their items as quickly as possible, please also note that due to the nature of our business, our saws are made to order and during busy periods there can be delays with certain items. We also sometimes have to wait for a batch of items to go on the machines to ensure that items remain viable for us to make. We ask for your patience with lead times and where we can will get items out ASAP if in stock.

We endeavour to get all mail order out within a week of order (approximate and subject to the above mentioned issues), with the estimation of a few days post in the U.K. (depending on what service paid for and also the size and weight of the goods) Outside of the U.K, postage is estimated at 7 days.

Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK, 20% VAT is added. Goods shipped within the European Union are also charged UK VAT unless we are supplied by a valid VAT registration number (including the two letter country prefix code). When you are processing your payment details, you can select to become exempt from UK VAT. UK VAT is not charged on orders leaving the European Union.

Credit Card Security

When the order is placed at our website, credit card payments are taken through our third party payment processing provide, Sagepay. No details are seen by us or are stored with us.They are not held in clear text on any web site. If you wish we can contact you to take credit card details over the phone which are also processed by Sagepay and not stored by us.

Thomas Flinn & Co. do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Please also note, we will accept returns on faulty items and within reason, items ordered that have been un-used and ordered incorrectly (not on personalised items). No returns/refunds will be accepted without prior consent from any personnel at Thomas Flinn & Co. We will not accept any saws/tools back that have been used, damaged, used incorrectly especially against manufacturer's instructions, that have undergone general wear and tear and negligence. In these instances, we will also not re-imburse any postage on the returned item unless genuine fault.

Remittance Terms

Orders will only be despatched when full payment has been received on the given payment instruction. Please always ensure that contact details are left with your order so that we can contact you should any problem arise. This will ensure that your goods are despatched as quickly as possible.
