Lynx Half Blind Dovetail Kerf Tool

Description
The Lynx Half Blind Dovetail Kerf Tool is a tool produced to enable the neat way of cutting half blind dovetails, where previously you may have used a chisel, this kerf tool allows you to use this to cut out your half blind dovetail neatly.
This technique was popularised by Tage Frid in his “Joinery” book in 1979, and encourages the principle of clearing out the waste behind the dovetail joint with an old scraper/saw blade but this tool enables this perfectly.
The kerf tool is 3″ long has a blade thickness of 0.025″ which is a touch wider than most dovetail saw blade kerfs so will enable you to insert this blade into the cuts and tap gently with a mallet to act like a chisel cleaning these areas. Start by sawing out the pins, not past your drawn lines and then use the kerf tool. Strike gentle and increase until you get the the drawn lines of your dovetails. Take care not to split your wood.
Item has a folded brass back and a specially cut blank to act as the blade. Finished with a turned beech handle.
